We are so excited about what the “Make It Mobile Hackathon” holds. We believe that there are going to be a lot of products/projects with real-world use cases building on Celo. As blockchain-related projects have been on the rise in Africa, intending to solve the underbanked problem, we are so optimistic that Celo will see a lot of African projects participate in this Hackathon.
Why we BUIDL on Celo
Paychant has always been one of the advocates of Celo, that’s why we have chosen to be part of the BUIDLER in the Celo Ecosystem. Paychant is a cryptocurrency payment gateway solution, that lets businesses and individuals in Africa accept and send Celo Dollar as a payment.
Our Expectation during the Hackathon
During the “Make It Mobile Hackathon”, we are looking forward to seeing projects that increase access to Celo Dollar in Africa. Part of this project is an OTC desk exchange mobile application that enables an instant swap of fiat currency to Celo Dollar because getting Celo Dollar for a layman in Africa is still a bit challenging, as few Africa-based crypto exchanges have cUSD pair.
